Privacy Policy

Sprez ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Sprez iOS application.

By using Sprez, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Crucially, Sprez transmits some of your data to third-party AI providers in order to generate outfit suggestions. We obtain your explicit, in-app consent on a dedicated screen before any of that data leaves your device. The "AI Processing & Consent" section below explains exactly what is sent, to whom, and how to withdraw permission.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information to provide and improve our service:

Account information: Your email address and display name when you create an account.
Profile information: Style preferences, body measurements, gender, and wardrobe preferences you provide during onboarding and in settings.
Photos and images: Photos of clothing items you digitise to your closet, model photos you optionally upload, and inspiration images you save.
Location data: Your approximate city or GPS coordinates, used only to fetch local weather. Coordinates are not stored; we do not track your location over time.
Calendar data: Read on-device with your permission. Only the titles of events you choose to share are included in AI prompts; the full event data never leaves your device.
Usage data: Information about how you interact with the app, used to improve recommendations.
Purchase information: Subscription status managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Push notification token: Only if you enable daily reminder notifications.

How We Use Your Information

To provide AI-powered outfit suggestions personalised to your wardrobe, style, and schedule.
To analyse the garment photos you upload so they can be catalogued.
To generate outfit flat-lay imagery based on your clothing items.
To send optional daily outfit reminder notifications, if you enable them.
To manage your subscription and account.
To improve and develop our services.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data for advertising, marketing, or to train any AI model.

AI Processing & Consent

Sprez cannot function without AI processing. Before any data is transmitted to a third-party AI provider, Sprez asks for your explicit consent on a dedicated in-app screen during onboarding. Existing users who upgrade to a Sprez build that uses new AI providers will see the same screen as a one-time prompt on launch. No data leaves your device for these providers until you accept.

You can review or revoke that consent at any time from Profile → App Settings → AI Data Use. Revoking consent immediately disables AI-powered features (outfit suggestions, garment analysis, outfit imagery). Your wardrobe and preferences remain on your account; you can opt back in at any time.

Specifically, the following data is transmitted to the following third-party AI providers:

Anthropic (Claude) — receives wardrobe item photos, item metadata (name, colour, fabric, brand), your style preferences (vibe, dress code, palette, fit, personal rules), body measurements, gender, and the titles of any calendar events you've chosen to share. Used to analyse garments and generate outfit suggestions.
Google (Gemini) — receives wardrobe item photos and a styling prompt derived from your preferences. Used to generate outfit flat-lay imagery and supplementary text.
Cloudinary — receives raw garment photos for background removal. Each image is uploaded, transformed, and then deleted from Cloudinary within seconds of processing.

Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data to a standard equal to or exceeding this Privacy Policy, to use it only to fulfil the requested operation, and not to use it to train their underlying models.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Sprez. Each operates under its own privacy policy and is contractually bound to provide protections equivalent to those described here.

Supabase — secure account authentication and primary data storage (supabase.com/privacy)
Anthropic (Claude) — AI for outfit suggestions and garment analysis (anthropic.com/legal/privacy)
Google (Gemini) — AI for outfit image generation and supplementary text (policies.google.com/privacy)
Cloudinary — image background removal (cloudinary.com/privacy)
OpenWeatherMap — local weather conditions (openweather.co.uk/privacy-policy)
RevenueCat — App Store subscription and entitlement management; receives a pseudonymous user identifier and your purchase events (revenuecat.com/privacy)
Apple Push Notification service (via Expo Push) — delivery of optional daily reminders

API keys and signed requests are held on Sprez servers and are never exposed to your device.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Photos are stored in encrypted cloud storage. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

With service providers listed above, as necessary to operate the app.
If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice to you.

Your Rights and Choices

Access and correction: You can view and update your profile information within the app at any time.
Deletion: You may delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at privacy@sprez.app.
Notifications: You can disable outfit reminder notifications in the app settings or your iPhone's notification settings.
Location: You can revoke location access at any time in your iPhone's settings.
Calendar: You can revoke calendar access at any time in your iPhone's settings.
Photos: You can revoke photo library access at any time in your iPhone's settings.

Children's Privacy

Sprez is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
